Arizona ABSN Scholarships

Students pursuing an accelerated BSN program in Arizona can apply for scholarships based on financial need.1 To be eligible for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Commit to work as a nurse in Arizona for a minimum of four years post-graduation.
  • Meet all admissions requirements.

The scholarship is only awarded to those who meet the criteria after all federal and gift aid has been applied. There are limited spots available. Request more information today to learn more.

ABSN Scholarships Outside of Arizona

Up to $8,000 nursing scholarships available for those who qualify.2,3

1MOU 8564-2, 8563-2, 8562-2, 8561-2 and 8560-2: The ABSN Arizona Nursing Service Scholarship Award is a need-based scholarship for students who meet the academic requirements for the ABSN clinical program. Eligible applicants will receive a scholarship up to the cost of tuition and fees for the ABSN clinical program, once all other federal and gift aid is awarded. The scholarship requires the recipient to serve as a nurse in Arizona for at least four years after graduation. Failure to fulfill this service commitment will result in the need to repay the scholarship to GCU. This scholarship is contingent on starting the secondary portion of the program in Fall 2024 at specific Arizona learning site locations. GCU's scholarship committee will review all applications and select the recipients. Successful candidates will be notified of the scholarship award, which cannot be combined with any other offers.

2MOU ABSN SLC 2000, MOU ABSN SLC 2001 and MOU ABSN SLC 2002: This scholarship applies to tuition and fees only and is valued at $2,000 per semester for the Spring 2024, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025 semesters. The accelerated BSN Pre-Nursing Salt Lake City (Sandy, UT) Scholarship is only valid for those applicants who meet all admissibility requirements including secondary acceptance into the clinical portion of your program. You must be enrolled full-time as a Ground Traditional student into the ABSN program and a clinical participant at the Salt Lake City (Sandy, UT) location. Scholarship is renewable each semester, not to exceed $8,000 in total. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarships.

3 MOU ABSN St. Louis Scholarship and MOU ABSN Boise Scholarship: This scholarship applies to tuition and fees only and is valued at $2,000 per semester for the Fall 2024 semester. The accelerated BSN Pre-Nursing St. Louis and Boise Scholarships are only valid for those applicants who meet all admissibility requirements including secondary acceptance into the clinical portion of your program. You must be enrolled full-time as a ground traditional student into the ABSN program and a clinical participant at the St. Louis or Boise location. Scholarship is renewable each semester, not to exceed $8,000 in total. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarships.

4 MOU 8669: This scholarship is only valid for applicants who are seeking coursework through GCU in preparation for the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program, have a minimum of 30 credits that are transferrable and who begin their first pre-nursing course in September or October 2023. If you enroll in pre-nursing courses Grand Canyon University will offer you reduced tuition rate of $225 per credit hour and $95 a credit hour for the following courses; Human Anatomy and Physiology I, Human Anatomy and Physiology I Lab, Human Anatomy and Physiology II, Human Anatomy and Physiology II Lab, Microbiology, Microbiology Lab, Applied Nutrition, Applied Pathophysiology, Introduction to General, Organic and Biochemistry, Introduction to General, Organic and Biochemistry Lab, Probability and Statistics and Lifespan Development. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarships/awards. This scholarship will be applied toward your tuition only and does not include fees (i.e., Canyon Connect, Technology, etc). This scholarship is applicable to the ABSN program only. Applicants who chose another program of study are responsible for paying back any ABSN pre-nursing scholarship funds granted.

MOU 9238: This scholarship is only valid for applicants who are currently working for an accredited school or district, who are seeking initial teacher licensure and who are not already a licensed teacher, and who are applying for one of the following bachelor’s programs: Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education (any emphasis), Elementary Education and Special Education, Educational Studies, Secondary Education (any emphasis). This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarships. This scholarship will be applied toward your tuition only, and you will not receive funds in excess of your charges.

◊◊MOU 9237:This scholarship is only valid for applicants who are currently working for an accredited school or district, seeking initial teacher licensure, not already a licensed teacher and applying for one of the following Master of Education programs: Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Elementary Education and Special Education, Secondary Education (any emphasis), Special Education (any emphasis). This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarships. This scholarship will be applied toward your tuition only, and you will not receive funds in excess of your charges.

MOU 9485:The New Undergraduate Student Summer Scholarship is only valid for those applicants who submit a complete application, meet all requirements for acceptance and start their program in July 2024. If you enroll in an online or evening bachelor’s program (excluding the RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and accelerated BSN), we will award you an $725 scholarship toward your tuition, which will be applied over your first academic year, as defined in the University Policy Handbook. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarship/awards, except the Persistence Credit, the Lifelong Learning Scholarship or the Military Veteran Tuition Scholarship. This scholarship will be applied toward your tuition only, and you will not receive funds in excess of your charges.

MOU 9486:The New Graduate Student Summer Scholarship is only valid for those applicants who submit a complete application, meet all requirements for acceptance and start their program in July 2024. If you enroll in an online or evening graduate program (excluding the FNP and ACNP programs), we will award you an $325 scholarship toward your tuition, which will be applied over your first academic year, as defined in the University Policy Handbook. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarship/awards, except the Military Veteran Tuition Scholarship. This scholarship will be applied toward your tuition only, and you will not receive funds in excess of your charges.

¥MOU 9487:The New Doctoral Student Summer Scholarship is only valid for those applicants who submit a complete application, meet all requirements for acceptance and start their program in July 2024. If you enroll in a Doctoral program, we will award you a $325 scholarship toward your tuition, which will be applied over your first academic year, as defined in the University Policy Handbook. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarship/awards. This scholarship will be applied toward your tuition only, and you will not receive funds in excess of your charges.

¬ MOU 9120 & 9121: This scholarship is only valid for those applicants who are participating in a GCU College of Education or Secondary Education Emphasis master’s degree program, offered online, and who submit a completed application to start their program on or before December 31, 2024. If you enroll in a master’s degree program through any of the College of Education or Secondary Education Emphasis degree programs offered online, Grand Canyon University will offer you 18% off the tuition per course for your program. This scholarship will be applied at the same time the tuition charges occur. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarships/awards. This scholarship will be applied toward your tuition only and does not include fees (i.e., Canyon Connect, Technology, etc).

§MOU-Alumni 2000 Doctoral-July2024: The Alumni Scholarship for Doctoral Programs is only valid for those applicants who submit a complete application and begin a Doctoral program in July 2024.
